Welcome to Richmond Crusade For Voters, Inc. Since 1956

Message from the President.

Greetings,

Since taking office on January 18, 2011, it has been both exciting and challenging to the keep the wheels of our great organization rotating.  You have elected me and I have appointed a dynamic group of leaders to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of our non-partisan political organization.

I am enthusiastic about the upcoming activities the committee chairs are working on this year as we usher in celebrating our 55th year in the City of Richmond.

We have recently accomplished one of my goals – to have a Crusader representing all nine districts on our Research Committee.  It has been at least ten years since this has taken place.

During the next several months, we will be going throughout the community promoting the importance for every citizen to register and exercise their right to vote.

Also, we will be taking part in events within our community networking that will allow us the opportunity to register voters and to assist persons who want to obtain their voter rights back through restoration.

Our Community Advisory Board will join forces with other community groups to fight against negative issues concerning redistricting and plans to dilute the African-American vote.

We need to keep our elected officials accountable and continue to monitor what they are doing on behalf of our membership and the residents of the City Richmond.

Lastly, I appeal to you to take part and become active on our various standing committees.  There is power in numbers.  Your involvement can make a difference in the upcoming elections.
We need to stand up and speak truth to the powers that we have elected to represent us.

Sincerely,

Sylvia C. Wood
